Hello Again My Friends!
I just got back from a lovely church service. It was particularly lovely because I had the honor of holding my newest grandmonkey, 6 week old Kobe! There is nothing as precious as holding a baby in one's arms!
I always feel refreshed after attending this church. It fills my heart and soul with joy to sit between my son, his wife and baby, and my co grandma. My co-grandma is very special to me. She is often working, so when she is able to attend, I am so happy!
I gave her a big hug this morning when I found her in our regular row of chairs. She and I are almost the same age and have similar tastes in fashion. My daughter-in-law once smiled and said "I think you and my mom are the same person!" lol
It was from my co-grandma that I heard the word "refreshed" when referring to the church service.
And I do feel refreshed!
So much so, that after church, I headed to the grocery store to buy some healthy food items for lunch. My health journey has been frought with many valleys. Valleys filled with sugar, fast food, diet coke and processed carbs. I have been battling my food addiction for so many years, sometimes I just feel like throwing in the towel.
But now that exercise, particularly hooping, has become my new addiction, I am once again cleaning up my way of eating.
It felt so refreshing (I do like that word!) to heat a lunch of salad greens dressed only in extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar and topped with olives, slivered air fried garlic cloves, parmesan and tuna. I had a small hunk of sourdough bread and sliced apples on the side.
My inners are smiling in delight!
Now that I am committed to daily exercise, I vow to be more attentive to my eating. In a self-loving sort of way. I have spent way too many years condemning my appetite and my belly. I am now telling the world, I love my belly. So I am putting healthy things in it! And if I stray at times, with something not so healthy - well, I will give it something healthy at my next meal!
How's that for a dose of positivity?
I am about to run out the door to teach some piano students followed by my grandson's 4th birthday party.
Today has been a very good day so far. It is daylight savings time. We fell back an hour. The extra hour of sleep was a wonderful gift!
Happy Sunday to Ya'll!
Love,
Zita (Zma)
